Financial support for poultry farmers

Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) announces home energy grants for farming families.

Agricultural charity RABI recognises the difficulties currently faced by farming families and has stepped in to offer grants of up to £1,500 towards home-related energy costs.

Keeping warm at home

“People facing immediate financial hardship in relation to fuel cost increases can apply for grants of up to £1,500 towards bill payments or making homes more energy efficient,” says RABI’s director of services, Caron Whaley. “We should all be able to stay warm at home.”

Supporting farming families

RABI recognises that current circumstances mean more families are being drawn into fuel poverty, and is tackling this to help support the physical and mental health of farmers. The charity is also working with National Energy Action to ensure RABI regional support teams can provide the best advice to those affected.

Claim your grant

Three elements affect whether people can afford to heat their homes adequately:

  • household income

  • household energy requirements (including how heat-efficient their home is)

  • fuel prices

RABI has therefore set up the grant so that it can be used either directly towards home heating bills, or to help with energy efficiency measures such servicing boilers, installing water tank jackets, lagging pipes, or installing loft insulation.

Applications for support can be made by calling the charity’s free 24-hour helpline on 0800 188 4444, or by visiting their website here.
